Earlie,

the other day (yesterday?), I read a press release that INTC claims their PIII sales to be on target. Do you or anyone know what INTC's target was? Could it be one of those targets that are set after the fact? How many PIIIs have they sold and what is the target? Inquiring minds want to know.

Earlie, I finally figured out your post from last night about the sequential decline in pc sales from 4Q and how they have to make that up if they are to have an up year. I may be slow, but I get things eventually.

I just saw IDC ramping down their 1998 unit sales numbers again. If they keep going lower, this could be an up year. <vbg> This is like Compaq or Intel giving eps guidance. Set the bar low enough and you may clear it.
