People do something (good or bad, it does not matter which), pop up on the cultural radar screen and everyone rushes to tear them down. DM makes an easy target and nobody gives a damn if he is only 15. Dennis Rodman was what he became long before Detroit won a championship; the attention merely accelerated his evolution and drew him out of his shell. Took him down a path he may not have traveled. Same thing with DM. The monster that is currently DM already existed in some form before the first news coverage. The coverage pushed (accelerated) him down a path that he might not have otherwise traveled. No coverage, different path. Hopefully, he has people around him who can ground him. Hey, Dennis had Phil Jackson, bless his departed soul. Bless both their departed souls, I'm from Chicago.

Bottom line (the above is a bit obtuse), DM needs to clean up his act but I agree with you that he does not deserve to be abused by the media frenzy.
