Jays do that dance-hop thing too. Which isn't that surprising since they're cousins to crows. I had a couple of jays trained to come in my sliding door to get pecans. You have rarely seen birds so nervous, once they were inside the house... they would lunge at the pecan then bolt for the door, and idly eat it just outside. And wait to see if I would feed them another one. I haven't seen jays around for a couple of years. I do have a lot of hummingbirds.

I had a wild dream last night that I was videotaping a tornado at night. When the wind picked up at my location, suddenly the front door was So Much Farther Away than it was at the start of the dream. Figgers.
