Elmer,
Let me just say that is pretty easy to bash "our favorite buffoon(AMD)(TM Kash) but I usually pull for the under-dog whether it be AMD, the kid without a home or the stray cat. That's just my nature.
Anyone who has followed this stock for a while knows AMD has a habit of dissappointing. Doesn't take a genius to predict that AMD will screw up something in the future either. An investment Professor I had taught us that if you want to predict the future, just predict "no change". I guess he was right. I know he was right.
Also has to do with Intel setting the pace and AMD always scrambling to catch up. Intel has time to tweak designs and AMD always has to take too many chances.
At best, the K6-III is a stop gap to get to the K7. I've said that before. I've also said that major things have to come together for the K7 to be reality while all Intel has to do is tweak old designs.
So I ask you, who is more likely to make big mistakes? You know the answer.
I know this, we all know this. Jousting about process this and release dates etc. is good sport but the true test comes when the money is laid down. Right know I'd like to believe the K7 hype but my money is still in my pocket. You have some long positions yet you don't believe in the K7. Rather ironic isn't it?
I believe that you have only seen the tip of the iceberg concerning AMD restructuring. This is why I told you things get better. "Better" might mean worse in the eyes of WS or PRengel. Or it could be interpreted as good. We'll see.
