I have found out the same thing can happen when you short AMZN...

Jay,

Actually, being short can be much worse. I was short $240K of AMZN last March and had I been long, I max loss was $240K. AMZN procceded to double in price so my loss was $480K. Then it doubled again so my loss was $960K, etc. The loss was far greater than the first $240K with which I started. That cannot happen when one is long unless you average down.
