All I know is that when the religious and social conservative Republican's honestly let their beliefs hang out; rather than run a stealth campaign; they lose the race. As more time has gone by; they are having a tougher time in races. They benefited by people not knowing what they would get the first time around. You still haven't addressed the thorny problems of defining abortion as murder. You haven't responded to the required unfoldment of law and enforcement this definition requires. We've been through a long national debate about when life begins and the "it begins at conception" crowd has lost that debate over and over. You can put up all sorts of polls, but if that debate comes up in an election forum; it will lose again. People understand the implications of this and so vote against it. Birth control pills would be illegal if life begins at conception. If you define life at conception; then you get into all sorts of mess with the law when much of it has to do with medical situations that have never been characterized as dealing with a "person". There were all sorts of problems with the life at conception definition. You folks seem to bring these things up as if they are some sort of new issue. You've lost these arguments. I don't see any evidence that things are shifting your way on these things; polls or no polls; when it comes time for a vote; you lose on these issues.
