Wall Street stocks seen opening firmer
By Ian Simpson
NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks are likely to
open higher Wednesday, led by technology and oil shares and
buoyed by the prospect of a big French bank merger.
Analysts said investors might look past such factors as
rumors of an earnings warning from semiconductor maker Intel
Corp. <INTC.O> and concern about personal computer makers'
profits.
"I think we'll be in positive territory at the opening,"
said Arthur Hogan, chief market strategist at Jefferies & Co.
in Boston.
