This is not "news". CSCO gave such warnings in each of its 10Q filings in every quarter. Stock down at the open. Good buying opportunity.

AT&T <T.N> evaluating Nortel switching system

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 10 (Reuters) - Northern Telecom Ltd.'s <NTL.TO> <NT.N> Nortel Networks unit said Wednesday that AT&T Corp. is evaluating it as a potential provider of advanced voice switching systems for AT&T's worldwide network.

If AT&T opted to use Nortel's DMS-250 system, the technology would provide a platform for AT&T to evolve from circuit switching, which is currently used by most telephone carriers, to packet-based switching, which allows for more efficient transport of voice and data, Nortel said.

Nortel's DMS platform is part of its "succession network," designed to allow phone carriers to incrementally transition to more efficient, data-oriented network without the need to install a new network all at once.
