Richard, that is in line with the speculation that is out there on the Dell/IBM deal. We need to see the Dell line workers building IBM machines before we will get any further information. I don't know how Dell would be able to keep that quiet unless Dell set up a secret facility in Antartica for IBM fabrication. Leaks would happen very quickly. Dell and IBM would need to announce it. Pat P.S. If a bunch of Texan start buying heavy winter coats let me know!

Great Article, especially if it should come to pass. Bottom line Mike Dell is a winner, the people in this industry know it and they want to be involved in what he does because they know what it can mean to their bottom line. Mike will make things happen.

I liked this part about it: We understand that at the last minute, IBM brass nixed a deal that provided for Dell to begin manufacturing IBM branded PC machines. Our analysts, who are not affiliated with any investment bank, increasingly believe that this large announcement from IBM and Dell is forthcoming. This stunning deal, was apparently nixed over tremendous political infighting within IBM. Our understanding is that a large block of IBM management was overly concerned over the potential channel impact of such a deal. We understand that IBM has decided to wait to judge vendor and channel reaction to last week's deal whereby Dell is to buy approximately $17 billion of IBM computer technology.
