Serge - of course they were delivering product last quarter. Are you suggesting they should never announce the contract because everyone already knows they got it? Please!

Talk about PR, Nortel announces that AT&T might use their switches. Rob

Global One Has arrived? It was already here, Alan Lutz said NN was already delivering product for the contract in the last CC. Looks like another PR job by NN.

What is this, a damned if you do, damned if you don't?????

G1 has never been announced publicly. It's here. It's official. Now anyone saying Lutz was lying can pack up and move on.

Value Of Newbridge/Siemens Pact Could Exceed US$500M
By BEN DUMMETT
Dow Jones Newswires

TORONTO -- Newbridge Networks Corp. (NN) and Siemens AG (G.SIE) expect to receive a total of more than US$500 million from their contract to supply ATM switching equipment to Global One, a joint venture consisting of Deutsche Telekom (DT), France Telecom (FTE) and Sprint Corp. (FON).

As reported, Newbridge, a Canadian networking equipment supplier, and Germany's telecommunications conglomerate Siemens, won a five-pact pact to supply ATM equipment for use in Global One's high-speed network.

A spokesman for Newbridge wouldn't disclose the exact value of the pact, but he said it had the potential to be worth more than US$500 million over the five-year contract period for Newbridge and Siemens.

News of the Global One pact doesn't come as a surprise since Newbridge Networks Corp. (NN) had hinted since last year that it and Siemens AG (G.SIE) had signed the deal.

Initially, Newbridge will get the bulk of the revenue generated from the five-year pact because most of the equipment shipped to Global One at the outset will consist of Newbridge's 36170 switches, the Newbridge spokesman told Dow Jones.

However, later on in the contract, revenue will be more evenly split between Newbridge and Siemens, as Global One is expected to use new switching products developed by both Newbridge and Siemens, the Newbridge's spokesman said.

In early Toronto trading Wednesday, Newbridge is up 1.00 to 43.15 on about 76,000 shares.
