ESST -MSFT ;Venus Project-Chinese internet devices Chinese computer maker Legend Holdings Ltd said on Wednesday it would cooperate with Microsoft Corp (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) to develop new applications based on the Windows CE operating system for the Chinese market. Legend chairman Liu Chuanzhi said in a statement the two companies would establish a laboratory to develop Windows CE applications in China in order to promote usage of the operating system in consumer electronics products. Liu gave no other details about the laboratory project, which was disclosed as part of Microsoft's announcement here to launch its Venus project to bring low-cost Internet access to China. Also participating in the project are Acer Inc , ESS Technology Inc (Nasdaq:ESST - news), Taiwan's Integrated Technology Express Inc and Philips Consumer Electronics .
