tippet: Ever heard of the leap-frog theory, where relatively underdeveloped countries, with sufficient foreign currency reserves, can skip what were previously thought to be necessary stages in socio-economic development, by purchasing higher technology. The Chinese economy and its society needs high technology (and especially computers and the internet) if it is to leap-frog. CPQ not only made a sale the other day, but it made the sale before a powerfully influential audience. Don't confuse reports about past sales with projections about future sales.
