Nixon was no fiscal conservative, imo. What I'm talking about transcends party lines. Reagan understood this. He knew the value of unleashing the private sector and pushing for small government. We've never been able to fully achieve what he envisioned for this country because we've decided as a country that government "largess" isn't really all that bad, the majority voting block is beginning to see themselves as the main beneficiaries..
