Individual Investor Online Expands
E-Commerce Initiatives; IIOnline
Offers Expansive Collection of Financial Text, Research
and Software

NEW YORK, March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Individual Investor Online (Nasdaq: INDI - news),
which merges in-house, professional stock analysis with news and commentary, today announced
the enhancement of the IIOnline Bookstore, representing an expansion of its e-commerce efforts.
Through the new IIOnline Bookstore and several partnerships, Individual Investor Online
(http://www.iionline.com) is now offering its users a large and easy-to-use financial bookstore,
third-party research and personal finance software.

Individual Investor Online has partnered with Traders' Library, a publisher of financial books and
cataloger of financial titles, to offer users a comprehensive and easy-to-use library of investment and
money managing texts. Details on each book's contents are provided to users on the site and many
titles are offered at discounted prices.

In addition, Individual Investor Online's partnership with INVESTools, the Web's largest library of
financial newsletters and research, allows IIOnline visitors direct access to a rich collection of third
party investment research. Also, a partnership with Software.net provides users the opportunity to
purchase a variety of personal finance software titles.

''The investment community is hungry for information and tools to help them wisely play the markets.
These recent enhancements to Individual Investor Online are turning our site into an online gateway
to financial information and tools,'' said Jonathan Steinberg, president and CEO of Individual
Investor Group, Inc. ''The strategic partnerships we have developed make Individual Investor
Online the place to go for quick, credible and affordable tools and information that can help level the
playing field for self-directed investors.''

Through the IIOnline bookstore, users can purchase books in more than 40 financial categories --
daytrading, tax strategies, mergers and acquisitions, global investing, money management and online
investing to name a few. New releases as well as classic finance titles are available.

''Not only are we able to provide our users with easy access to a deep library of financial resources,
but it's easier and faster for people to subscribe to our publications and make purchases from the
comfort of their home or office,'' continued Steinberg. ''Due to the sophistication and affluent nature
of our users, we see significant promise in partnership opportunities and are dedicated to the
continued expansion of our efforts in this channel. Our agreement with Trader's Library will allow us
to offer specially targeted texts that our users can benefit the most from and also represents a more
profitable business relationship than we had with our previous partner.''

Individual Investor Online has focused heavily on the development of online partnerships since the
relaunch of its site in late 1998. In December, Individual Investor Group acquired
InsiderTrader.com, an online distributor of insider data and independent financial research, marking
the Company's initial foray into online paid-subscription sites.

''While our online services, Individual Investor Online and InsiderTrader.com, currently derive most
of their revenue from advertising, we are continually seeking to grow other revenue streams, such as
e-commerce and subscription fees,'' continued Steinberg.

Individual Investor Online has seen positive results in response to its first e-commerce offering, the
sale of subscriptions to Individual Investor Magazine on its site. In the fourth quarter of 1998,
Individual Investor Online recorded a 140 percent growth rate in average monthly online subscription sales over the third quarter of 1998. Although currently a small portion of the magazine's
subscription base, online subscription generation is the most profitable source of customer acquisition
for Individual Investor Magazine.

Traders' Library is one of the leading distributors and publishers of financial books, videos and
support materials in the world, offering a huge selection of trading books on stocks, options,
technical analysis, futures, day trading, trading systems, currencies, global markets and more.

Located at iionline.com, Individual Investor Online, which merges in-house, professional
stock analysis with news and commentary, consistently delivers the highest quality investing and
financial information to its users. Individual Investor Online is published by Individual Investor Group,
Inc. (Nasdaq: INDI - news), an information services company that also publishes and markets
Individual Investor Magazine (circulation 500,000), Individual Investor's Special Situations Report,
InsiderTrader.com and Ticker Magazine.
