UG,

I realize that but in most poeoples environments qp update is launched from the internet downloader.... I can't control how one QP process launches another from itself. Certainly this technique could be applied from my batch files...

I see that '95 does indeed have a start command, but doesn't support the priority class switches. >:-( I don't have access to a Win '98 box, so no idea what switches it supports or if it even has the start command, but I'd wager that it does.

FYI Here is the options Windows 98 provides with the "START" command.

C:\WINDOWS>start /?
Runs a Windows program or an MS-DOS program.

START [options] program [arg...]
START [options] document.ext

/m[inimized] Run the new program minimized (in the background).
/max[imized] Run the new program maximized (in the foreground).
/r[estored] Run the new program restored (in the foreground). [default]
/w[ait] Does not return until the other program exits.
