Internetnews.com is reporting that Geocities (Yahoo's web community merger partner) has launched its new feature Pages That Pay geocities.com an e-commerce affiliate program for its more than 3.5 million members. The program, powered by Be Free Inc.'s affiliate marketing technology, offers merchants on the Internet the opportunity to partner with GeoCities and leverage the content and traffic generated by its member base and nearly 19 million monthly visitors. Pages That Pay gives GeoCities' "Homesteaders" the ability to make money through their own personal Web pages by selling
thousands of products and services from 16 brand-name merchants.
Several of the 16 partner merchants have already announced their participation ( SEVL,QSND and today COOL).
But one small cap partner that has not yet is Seattle PhotoWorks FOTO- though its home page has added a Pages that Pay link to GCTY filmworks.com .
"GeoCities members choose which merchants and products they wish to display on their pages. When visitors complete sales from
those affiliate links, the member earns a percentage of the revenue. Merchants in the program at launch include barnesandnoble.com, DigitalWork Inc., Egghead.com, eMerchandise, Fogdog Sports, MSN Expedia, Net2Phone, Outpost.com, QSound Labs Inc., Reel.com, Seattle FilmWorks, 7thStreet.com, SmarterKids.com,Staples.com, Tickets.com and Value America." internetnews.com
FOTO's offers film developing services via the internet. Among their products are PhotoMail program- allows customers to download their developed film via the web, FilmWorksNet -which offers free web page to display images/photos, PhotoWorks -photo software and Pictures on Disk- which moves developed photos into the digital realm by offering them on disk.
FOTO announced a deal with Excite last December biz.yahoo.com but has been ignored since -even in the wake of Excite's merger plans with internet cable entity AtHome ATHM.
