CNBC's Business Center (7 PM EST) program will do a segment on y2k this evening. The commercial today mentioned something about "hoarding medications"..."and how to protect your portfolio." Oooooh, this should be good. I've noticed that since the beginning of the year there has been virtually no snickering when discussing y2k on CNBC...suddenly this topic just isn't as funny as it once was not that long ago.

TO CHEEKY KID:

<I wish everyone would post their view, like I did. But I feel some of the doomers are scared to post their veiws on what they believe Y2K will do. WHY??????>

Why should it matter what John believes? Why do you care? When push comes to shove, everyone should do their OWN research and make their own value judgements on what they should do, or shouldn't do. NONE OF US KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN. We only know that there is a probability of failure ... SOMEWHERE. We don't know where. We don't know how extensive.

John has, and continues to, share much of what he's researched. (WE APPRECIATE YOUR EFFORT, JOHN.) It takes a lot of time and effort to do what he does. His links (90%+) often come from technical journals, government hearings and info from abroad. HE reads this stuff. Many of us also do. You apparently don't.

If these publications and government hearings sound like doom and gloom to you - and you disagree ... DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE and write to these people who you disagree with ... don't try and bait and berate those who post this info.

Most of us are here to try and share information - NOT force our opinions on others.
