By Amex rules QQQ can be shorted on the downtick. Whether it was implemented by Datek -- ? I did not try yet. Please, let me know if you did.

Anyone know if we can trade QQQ on Datek? If so, does Datek know that we can short it without an uptick? Datek used to have this right. I've shorted SPY many times on the downtick with them, but haven't traded that instrument in quite sometime, so I can't speak for recently. There is one disadvantage to trading the Amex index trusts through Datek. These are open for trading on Amex until 4:15, but Datek cuts you off at 4:00, unless they've changed this policy.
