Randy,

You make a good point. However, daytrading is a new phenomenon and that can play havoc with the stock price. It used to be easy to buy and hold, because markets were less volatile. In the current internet era, volatility is here to stay. I'm not sure how prudent a buy and hold startegy would be.....or how it would compare with trading strategy. Someone had posted the average returns on an SI thread. I'll dig it up and post it if I can find it...

Randy,

Currently there are 8.5 Million on-line trading accounts in the U.S. 80% of them were opened within the last 12 months.

I think that on-line trading is not even 3 years old yet??
