My understanding was that the 1st trimester was pretty much mostly human life potential, but not there yet. Oddly; most of these types of abortions are from either someone getting pregnant that can't handle the health implications, women using it as a form of birth control (pathetic), rapes, underaged girls; that about covers that. Most 3rd trimester abortions should be for birth defects or health problems. As for 2nd trimester; I guess that can catch birth defects and then these would be health risk also. I think the real crisis is the 1st trimester ones done do to frivolous cause; carelessness. Women that have no intention of having a baby and yet have sex unprotected knowing they run a high risk of getting pregnant. I've seen a lot of that kind of thing. This is the real bad thing about abortion to me; it trivializes sex and the sanctity of making a baby.
