Lynn: When I read rudedog's post I remembered this "with an exercise price of $31.25 a share." and wondered where he had gotten the $47+ trigger point. Thanks for digging it up again.

I stand corrected. I was under the impression that his whole package was $1.5M. I think the idea that he would have gotten a raise on top of a 4.5M base is ridiculous given the abysmal performance of the company in 1998. Apparently the other senior execs at CPQ get a different deal than EP, if he got his grant at 31.25 and they got theirs at 47.75... I think I'll circulate this around with a couple of my "old buddies" and see if I can start a brush fire.
