Timothy,>>>I mean the article is a negative spin of what Intel actually said.<<< It is obvious that the spokesperson was trying to say they do not have any intention to change their guidance for now - up or down. But, it is also obvious that there are people out there, for some bizarre reason, that will use any opportunity to twist any news into something negative. Many of these are people have been bearish for quite some time. Some have been calling for the market to crash since when the DJIA first crossed 4000. If I were a bull the way these people are bears, it would be like me calling for the DJIA at 10,000 to go through the roof and then sticking with that forecast when the DJIA is at 4,000. (I think I would have gotten the message when the DJIA reached 8900 - and by the time it reached 7500 - I would be getting my head examined if I hadn't significantly gotten out of the market by then.) Now that the DJIA is close to 10,000 these bears are somewhat muted, but they all seem to have some kind of marching orders to zero in on technology stocks, and PC sales in particular, as a weak link that will precipitate a crash in the US securities market. They will take any shred of relevant news and twist it into something that is highly negative. And, they work very diligently to make sure that their views are spread to the uninitiated - almost like they were engaged in some kind of holy war. They are now joined by Bill Fleckenstein. But, what baffles me, is that even if the market were to crash next week, most of these people will not make any significant amounts of money. What do they get out of this? Mary
