Doug still can't believe the change of heart we are witnessing from you but your points are all valid. "Secondly US recognition of BII grew only very late in the fall 98'." On top of this is the fact that 90% of Bid.Com's customers live in the USA. If I was trying to purchase a last minute Christmas gift I certainly would not risk a customs hold up from making sure my gift made it there on time. If 90% of our customers come from that country it would make sense to have distributors in that country. It would result in ease for shipping and peace of mind for customers. I heard someone complain on this thread that it took them three weeks to receive a book ordered from Amazon. These time delays work both ways.

Dagan, what's your opinion on the impact of Bidnow and others becoming more active in the marketplace. Do you share Alain's opinion that the more competition the better for Bid.com or might it be that the more players the more negative the impact on Bid.com? Secondly are you saying we need to wait for Xmas 99 before we'll know for sure about how successful (or not) this company will be? >>X MAS 99' could be very different due to more gift style offerings , better lead times ,proven delivery systems , proposed business model changes, consumers becoming more comfortable
