Bill, I know from reading your posts that you could appreciate the challenge of converting a Tucker SnoCat to run reliably on compressed hydrogen between a renewable hydrogen production facility at 12,400-feet and a hydrogen refueling depot fed by pipeline 9 miles away at 10,200 feet. This is a micro-analogy of Dave Haberman's port-to-port concept for hydrogen fueled ships. A very exciting development from UC Riverside (CE-CERT)is a natural gas proportioning valve that allows a compressed NG vehicle to be outfitted with a hydrogen tank. This is the "killer app" transition device to hydrogen transportation. The owner of a NG-fueled vehicle with this setup could fill his hydrogen tank in his garage with a Stuart consumer electrolyser, supplement the electricity to the electrolyser with photovoltaics and/or wind power, and on a trip outside of town he could fill the NG tank at a commercial station. -- Rickmas
