GROUP HEALTH COOPERATIVE CHOOSES DELL
FOR DESKTOP PC REPLACEMENT PROGRAM

ROUND ROCK, Texas, March 9, 1999 -- Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, will roll out 6,000 OptiPlex® desktop computers for Group Health Cooperative as part of a project to update the healthcare provider's computer systems and as a cost-effective way to help deal with some of its Year 2000 issues.

Group Health estimates it will save more than $1 million on the project by updating its computer systems. The project's estimated value is up to $10 million.

"Dell's service, price/performance ratio and Year 2000 certification made it an easy decision to buy new machines rather than repair and upgrade the old ones," said Steve Horsley, manager, distributed systems, Group Health Cooperative.

The delivery schedule associated with the rollout of thousands of PCs was critical for Group Health Cooperative.

"It was important that our systems provider could scale to meet our volume demands and handle the challenges and logistics of our unique delivery schedule," continued Horsley. "Our receiving location required delivery during specified windows of time on certain days."
