we are reaching diminishing returns on this subthread

my only two points were

a) in response to a previous question re: silver
I stated I thought it was a very good investment
by Buffett

b) a p/e evaluation of 75 based only on the operating
companies seemed a little harsh

I too think Buffett is a hero

finally an apology ... in after thought (and as a newbie
to SI) I think posts re: BRK are inadequate for this
thread which seems more towards applying Buffett principles
in attempts to find other opportunities. (I have taken
advantage of same and purchased a position in TGX)

I will attempt to profit and contribute in the future
in this effort

regards

Porc,

>>So, to all of you, especially Wayne, who had the prescience to
ignore Buffett's warning that BRK was fully valued at 40,000+<<

The one thing you have to remember about BRK as opposed to the typical business is that waiting for the gain in intrinsic value for most businesses is like watching grass grow. For BRK it's like watching a fine thoroughbred on Breeders Cup Day. It is a portfolio of high ROE businesses, huge float generating ability, and plenty of opportunity for reinvestment. It's the perfect situation. Intrinsic value is a rapidly moving target.
