Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking Stock Had Volume Of 2.6M Shrs Wed

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The tracking stock for the Nasdaq-100 Index, Nasdaq-100 Trust Series I (QQQ), had volume of 2.6 million shares on its first day of trading Wednesday.

The tracking stock opened at 102 1/4 and closed at 102 1/8.

In a press release Wednesday, Nasdaq-Amex Market Group said the previous American Stock Exchange record for a new product launch was 1.7 million shares.

Volume for options on the Nasdaq-100 Index tracking stock, which also began trading Wednesday, totaled 2,146 contracts.
