Hi Dan...interesting day here (again)

I see tone deaf 'musicguy' is back :( He was suspended twice last week - I wonder if he gets it yet? TokyoMex had an interesting day as well I see. I would listen to what A@P has to say, but take a look around you!

My views on 'picks' FWIW...

For regular CNBC viewers - how many folks come on there and give their picks? For some of their regulars they run a performance chart for the picks they made the last time they were on! How many picks are given in Newsletters for this reason or that? How many web sites now offer and e-mail alert for picks for 'subscribers only'?

As long as what you do is ethical (no front running, picks with real potential prospects down the road, etc) you should be OK.

Here's my advice to you Dan...

Continue to learn as much as you can about the market and investing - attempt to beat the S&P 500 this year and every year - be better than many of the dufus's sitting on Wall St - be as successful as you can be!!

There's no better 'get even' ploy than being successful.

Thus far - you appear to be on track :)

Good luck,

David.

Daniel,

Any opinions on CODY,(Cafe Odyssey) yet? Anyone else have the low down on this Co. Volume appears to be picking up (about double) the last couple of days and the price has gone from appx .63c to appx .80c. I see major support at 1.00, but if they break through, there is nothing from keeping them from reaching their previous 52 week high of around 5.00. Just now announced penetration into the Denver market. They also appear to be just a bit more than undervalued right now. I'm new to this thread and also to SI and I hope that some of the personal attacks that I have witnessed can cease (especially against Daniel Miller). With all do respect - We all are adults and should attempt to do our own DD, and as far as I'm concerned DM has always advised us to do our own DD, BEFORE investing our money on his recommendations. If the sheep want to follow then as far as I'm concerned, they deserve the results both GOOD and BAD of their own actions. Let's keep this thread clean and instructional, as I believe we can ALL offer positive info in an attempt to assist each other in advancing our financial objectives. Just my HO.

Sincerely,

Daniel,
Did you find anything out on IVCO?
Is this a pos play?

IVCO. The expected earnings must have already been built into the stock price. That is the only explanation I have.

Daniel IVCO is a fairly difficult play due to several reasons. But my top ones are:

OTC preps as they sell, especially private label merchandise is very price sensitive and competitive. They have a big sales risk in that their largest customer accounts for more than 33% of sales.

Growth is slowing (only 5%) last quarter and due to their switch in emphasis to private label their margin is down a bit eventhough profits are up. Add to this that one year employee growth was 11.6%.

Switching emphasis to a private label organization in a way has you surrender franchise/name recognition you may have built for your business over the years. As you have recently been looking into good will - and weather it is of any value - I believe you will realize the significance of this.

The P/E is not bad for the industry subset -- don't lump them in with drug manufacturing.

Last point that could effect investors thinking is that the company management is a bit colorful (president and former chairman is reported - by Hoover's - to have a vehicular homicide conviction in 95 at which time he stepped down in favor of his brother), and they in total own 70% of company giving them virtual total control.

I think I would stay on sidelines on this one.
