Rusty, Redmond seems to have developed a nice conduit in Steve Lohr. On this line, anyway, I have to give Microsoft rare credit for consistency. The Government, he added, has succeeded mostly in creating a "lot of noise around various random incidents or pieces of e-mail." To quote Bill, "It's totally random! It's beyond bizarre!". So much email, so little time. Despite the prosecution's long list of accusations, backed by a procession of industry witnesses, "We believe that none of the Government's claims can be sustained on the basis of the record as it now stands," Heiner wrote. Maybe, maybe not. The record looked a lot better before the Microsoft "defense", though. I guess The Economist is out of style in Redmond these days.
