U.S. HEADLINE STOCKS - Issues to watch March 11

NEW YORK, March 11 (Reuters) - Stocks to watch Thursday:

-- Computer distributor Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM - news) said it
would cut 1,400 jobs as part of a restructuring and expects
first-quarter earnings before charges to fall short of analysts'
expectations. Ingram shares closed Wednesday at 18-5/8.

-- Computer networking equipment maker 3Com Corp.
(Nasdaq:COMS - news) said it plans to join forces with software
maker Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) to develop a line of
home networking products. 3Com closed at 24-5/8 and Microsoft
closed at 161-3/8.


-- Charles Schwab Corp. (NYSE:SCH - news) is settling complaints
from investors with losses that could total $1.2 million on orders
they tried to cancel, the Wall Street Journal reported. Schwab
closed at 81.

-- Oil and drilling stocks are expected to continue to be a focus
as top oil producers discuss deeper cuts in output. The sector is
expected to get a push from takeover rumors surrounding Phillips
Petroleum Co. (NYSE:P - news). Phillips closed at 42 and was
indicated up $2 in London.
