Microsoft Lawyer Optimistic About Antitrust Case, NYT Reports

New York, March 11 (Bloomberg) -- David Heiner, a senior Microsoft attorney, says the government's antitrust trial is going the company's way and that it will prevail, according to an internal memo Heiner wrote to top Microsoft executives last week, the New York Times reported. Heiner, in a document leaked by a Microsoft employee, said he believes the government's claims that Microsoft stifled competition cannot be sustained. The memo also said the government had not proven anything and that Microsoft's legal team view the government as ''profoundly anti-consumer,'' the newspaper said.

Speculation about a possible settlement in the five-month- old antitrust trial was quelled Tuesday when Microsoft and government attorneys indicated they were waiting for the other side to make the first move toward a compromise. (NYT 3/11 www.nytimes.com)

Netware can never really takeoff again. Why? Because it is not developed and marketed by Microsoft. Unbelievably a simple conclusion.

Whether people like MSFT or not---they will prefer MSFT over others just because there is confidence that any problems will be corrected with all the huge resources (programmers and lots of cash)!!
