I'm not so sure.

What happens when a well known brokerage firm issues a strong buy on a stock? It runs up. And then a couple months later they downgrade to hold - selloff

However, if a strong buy is given with false or misleading information, that is another case.

Think Tmex saves himself with;

CEO,,, lied to me,,,,, no one,,,, does that to me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,, we are going,,,,, to,,,, rip off his head,,,, and shove our,,,,
stock certs down,,,, his,,,,,,,, throat,,,,,

damn comma key,,,, stuck after,,,, i smashed my,,,, keybaord,,,, over,,,, some lying CEO's head,,,,,

i can not see how you can not consider it looking at as anything else than a pump and dump

I am not in anyway defending this kind of stuff, but for some perspective take a look at a MegaCap stock like HWP (Hewlett Packard) and the timing of pos/neg recommendations of a highly "respected" investment bank, namely Goldman Sachs. This P&D s**t happens all over the marketplace, but you have to go after the TokyoJoe types because you sure as hell can't go after the Rubin types (ex-head of Goldman Sachs who is now Secretary of the Treasury.)

I don't claim to know everything - or even much - of how the stock game is played, but simply assuming *everybody* is a scumbag until proven otherwise has served me well so far.
