EL--- makes little difference IMO. We have had some great news recently along with the bad. The good stuff does not move it up and it takes little negative to move it down. Will be trying for 29 7/8 today..

El: I saw how he tried to deflect the question but I think he did answer it. To me he was implicitly conceding that if the concerns about PC's going forward are substantial, it will not affect his company too much because he has reduced PC's to 10% of their product lines. But he did say that he had a nice programme going with CPQ and they had not noticed any slowdown, yet. There was some wriggle room to the extent that he may have meant no slowdown in their overall revenues from all product lines. But I think he would have said if there had been a slowdown in computers and then said that it was offset by other sources of revenues.

El: I thought he dodged the question, too. CPQ sales at Radio Shack were pretty dismal last quarter, so even if RS is not seeing a slowdown, it doesn't mean much. I think everyone knows that RS is not a major computer retailer so I don't think whatever TAN says will carry much weight.

I think Compaq missing Q1 is already built into it's stock price.
