OT Internet stocks Well, since no one seems to want to post about AMAT I thought I would share my attempt to enter the 21st Century investment world yesterday and buy an internet stock. Two days ago Vertical Net {VERT} closed at around 71. I wanted to buy on the open yesterday but with volatility decided to do a limit order. My pre market "investigation" in to its opening price yesterday seemed to me to indicate a price of around 75 and I put in my order at 75 1/2. Well.....it gapped up and opened at 81 so my order was not filled. While I was waiting around trying to figure if it was worth that additional amount it went up to 90. I then concluded it was worth 90 but by that time it was up to 100. I gave up and today it went up to 120. Sad, but true! I think I'll stick to "less volatile" stocks like AMAT. <gg> Jeff
