About those Daily Graphs fund percentages:

I noticed that the Q fund holding percentage bumped up to 8% from 7% a few weeks ago. A week later it dropped to 6%. It didn't jive with the price action - I couldn't figure out how the price action could be so positive when fund holdings dropped by 25% (8% --> 6%)

After a small flurry of email with the Daily Graphs folks I think I understand the situation now. I'll just paste their latest reply:

We receive all sponsorship data from our
vendor called CDA Spectrum, they provide
us with weekly updates. HOWEVER, the funds
are only required to report their holdings
to the SEC twice a year and they can choose
anytime of the year to do this as long as
there is a six month span in between. This
means that there can be quite a lag.

Starting with Shares Outstanding. % owned
by management is a calculation of that figure
(not float). You have the part right about
an insider position-if a single entity owns
more than 5% of total shares outstanding, this
will be eliminated from float as well. % of
funds and % of banks is a calculation off of
the float.

That is the reason you may see % owned by
funds and % owned by mgmt adding up to over
100%. they are calculated off of different
values.
