Slider or Big Dog,

Question about setting tight stops; How tight do you set them? For example, E*Trade requires a stop limit to be 1/4 below the current bid. Depending on the value (share price) of the stock, that 1/4 spread can cause all sorts of problems. Some people suggest not setting them too tight and suggest setting them at a price that would reflect true downward movement and not the type of movement that comes with a normal day's trading range. Could one of you give us an example of how you're using stop limits? Use one of your real-life examples, or tell us how you would play a stock such as ESV, which is currently trading around 12 1/4.

Thanks,

Andrew

OMNI a follow up....

chart.yahoo.com

Look at this chart - December saw this stock fall from $7 to current levels on virtually no volume - individual investors folding... only 2-3 days over 100K since Dec 8th. When the institutions start buying and they will - it will not take much to move OMNI back up.

This stocks biggest weakness is low volume.

Look at March 8th when 659,000 shares trades - allmost an entire months volume in one day - but what did OMNI do ? It closed flat for the day; it did NOT sell off - buyers are here.

Do the ''DD'' - I see no reason to chase the MO-Mo fav's here when bargains can still be found...

good luck.

PS - got a double (on paper - still holding - *high risk by the way) in AXAS (micro cap E&P) in 3 days - they are out there folks....

anyone like SGO ? - I pray the merger will not get completed with OEI - and SGO would fly.... still a bargain here and OEI has been sold off as well .

Anyone buying today - what & why ?
