ZD, been using their stuff for about 10 years, when the sent out Hi-Tech trade rags. Great content, good magazines, use there online review of hardware today.

Bottomline, an Internet that most investors actually use personally. (PC Mag etc etc. Could easily value very solidly. My personal take is look long, not short. Could ride high for months on end
YMMV (your mileage may vary)

Opinon Release

SOURCE: QuietWon (this is not a company, just an independent individual's research on fundamentals)

INTERNET, March 11 /Anthony@Pacific Investigations, Dear Anthony / -- The following is being issued by QuietWon, NOT a member of the
National Association of Securities Dealers, just independent researcher.

First Virtual (Nasdaq: FVCX - OPINION )

This is solely an opinion. There is no news source, just my opinion.

I think this company will do very well, being the leader in video communications re internet. PictureTel, PCTL, buys equipment from FVCX. VTEL, owned in part by Intel, buys equipment from FVCX. FVCX is involved in the interoperability standards announced this week, which I believe will be very significant for FVCX.

Lucent, LU, and Nortel, NT, distribute FVCX's products. A while back, FVCX had a deal with LU and on that news FVCX popped a lot.

FVCX is in the business market and one day I believe its technology in the personal consumer and small business market. My fingers tired of typing, I can foresee one day rather than all this typing, that we are able to have voice discussions, and SIGHT, which FVCX would naturally, in my opinion be involved in.

There is a thread on Silicon Investor which likely will contain more detailed information over time. In the short run, technically the stock could advance to 17 or $18, it may back off. In the longer and long run I do believe the stock will trade much higher. I am recommending for those wanting a longer term (say 3, 6, 9, 12 months)
position, that First Virtual may be for you.

I currently have a long position in the company and may trade it, ie. shorter term , from time to time.

ZD -- Always respected their mags, but the business story is another matter. I found a backgrounder article describing the connection between Softbank, Etrade, and ZD. Worth reading IMO. A tad dated, but illuminating. (1/11/99)

Can't link directly to the article. Enter ZD in the search box.

Many compare ZD to CNET, which has run bigtime and split recently. Others hope for another DBCC. Myself, I wonder what the IPO is gonna do for their $1.5 Billion debt, other than distract people.

Certainly I'm more comfortable playing the short side of this one....radar, anyone?
