I sure wish I had stock options as part of my 'compensation package.'

Look at it this way, using totally made-up figures having zero relationship to NAVR: Some guy gets a base salary of $300,000. He also get options to buy 100,000 shares of his company's stock at 22. The stock is trading at 47. Now, this guy can either let his options expire--and be a real fool--or grab the 100,000 shares then sell them for a nice profit. Sure he could hold the shares--but he's going to have to pay tax one way or another [base salary +options=IRS says, "Hey, friend, hand over our part].
