GoNorth,
re: IWAV
Here's what the company does: they provide real-time on-line
information to non-profit institutions. These institutions,
BTW, raise hundreds of billions of dollars a year. We're
talking about colleges, universities, hospitals and other
health care organizations, all kinds of social services,
environmental agencies, arts and culture organizations.
This is a niche market, but a huge one.
Let's take one specific example. Harvard Law School needs to
raise X dollars/year. To assist them, they can log onto
Iwav's web site, and perform various queries, such as, which
large companies tend to donate funds to universities. They
can further refine their search to their needs, and end up
with a list of local companies, contact names, etc.
There are 80,000 pages of information in the iwave database,
and they have been compiling info for 10 years.
No, obviously anyone with an internet connection cannot do the
same thing, but I do agree with you that they need to do more
to communicate what it is they do, and the revenue potential.
That is why I bought some shares, as I think the fact that not
many people are aware of this company yet, and I'm hoping that
the stock will rise as investors find out.
