I sold 25% of my VTS at 13.50 today (the part I bought at 9)--was very overweighted in that one. Also sold 50% of my RDC at 12.19. My hunch is that VTS has a date with high 17's to keep soon---2 successive gaps up are wave 3 type action not usually the end of the move --but I feel more comfortable with now only a 50% overweighted position at the moment

Slider--what do you think of Pogo and HS Resourses in here. Bear Stearns seems to like -are they mostly gas? reserve life? debt?

Re: But, let me ask you a question -what are YOU buying TODAY ? >

RIG still looks tempting at under $26. Are you saying you're no longer interested in buying the laggards at these prices?

Slider,

Thanks for your thoughts on setting stops. I was sort of thinking along your lines. Today, I sold 1/2 of my position in ESV at $12 (stop set per my E*Trade 1/4 guideline). This makes the 3rd time that I've traded ESV for a 15-30% gain. For whatever reason I've designated ESV as the one with which to try a little trading. On the other hand, SDC (bought at 11 3/4) and FLC (at 5 3/8) I'll probably let ride the coaster. Over the last few months I've taken into consideration Big's advice on not being scared to take some profits along the way. It's prudent to maintain core positions for the long-term, but while on the journey it can be profitable to play the bumps/dips - it's also a heck of a lot of fun.
