Another IP deal for CSCO:

Bell Nexxia, Cisco set IP deal

biz.yahoo.com

Bell Nexxia, Bell Canada's new national Internet and broadband solutions
company, and Cisco Systems, Inc., announced today that the companies have formed a co-development relationship
to build a new world, next-generation network based on Internet Protocol (IP) to deliver advanced IP services across Canada.

Through this new technology and marketing agreement, Bell Nexxia is deploying Cisco networking technology to build a scaleable and robust IP
network infrastructure. Cisco and Bell Nexxia are also collaborating on the development and marketing of a full suite of IP-based services, such as
Virtual Private Networks.

Terry Jarman, President and CEO of Bell Nexxia, believes this agreement provides Nexxia with an edge over its competitors. ''Our goal is to offer
large enterprises and service providers a suite of advanced IP services over a business-class Internet' -- an IP-network that combines the low cost and
global reach of the public network with new levels of reliability and guaranteed service levels.''

''Through our agreement with Cisco, Bell Nexxia is ensuring that Canadian corporations and their customers, suppliers, partners and employees have
secure, reliable access to information anytime, anywhere -- in the most cost-effective way possible today,'' Jarman added.

The services currently under development through this agreement are targeted at the unique new world business needs of large enterprises and service
providers. These services include fully managed and scalable corporate Intranet and Extranet solutions with secure remote access options and LAN to
LAN connectivity solutions.

''Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, is delivering the new world communications infrastructure,'' said Don Listwin, executive
vice president, Cisco Systems, Inc. ''This new world infrastructure, based on the Internet, is enabling a new category of advanced network services.
We are pleased to partner with Bell Nexxia. Our collaboration extends well beyond the traditional customer-supplier relationship. It includes technology
development and deployment as well as marketing and sales.''

Under the complementary co-marketing arrangement, the companies are working together on the development of packaging, promotional, and
incentive programs. In addition, Bell Nexxia and Cisco are cooperating on network management, provisioning and customer care solutions to guarantee
the effective operation of this large-scale IP network.
