John,
Thanks for the feed back.
I also agree PAIR may have(I hope so!) seen BA as a wake up call!
We''' just have to see how it plays out!
I'd love a steady run rather than a hard one! The hard runs play hell with my nerves!
Anyway Thanks again John!
Your buddy,
Jay
Also: The post about PAIR making money and raising the bar on themselves? I thought that was some good insight! Made me stop and think! I thought it was a good point!

From the Company:

Excerpts of the company reponse to questions. Most of which were reserved for the CC for answer.

In regards to questions regarding the CLEC competitiveness of AVIDIA,installation cost, deployement issues and its overall baseline cost...

from PAIR:
I can tell you that I personally have never felt better about the future of the company. The Avidia platform holds the same if not more promise for the future. Small subscriber is on track in both revenue and profit contribution. And, unfortunately, the huge price reductions in HiGain are, as predicted, still washing through the P&L - offsetting the unit volume increases in that business unit as well as the revenue increases in the other units. None of this is news.

On the issue of no news and how the co feels regarding its business plans.

from PAIR:
Please keep in mind that we have never expected to see Avidia revenue kick in until late this year. Nothing we say or announce about this platform is going to change today's situation. The facts are it is only shipping in small volume - mostly in trials. We are months away from seeing revenue. The good news is that there is a lot of customer interest. We really believe that this is a 'best of breed' product. It is also a fact that there is more hype than reality in the industry wide shipment of DSL products. It is still in thousands of lines and will be months before it becomes tens of thousands and next year before it becomes hundreds of thousands of lines.

Question for Respect for the street is lost .

from PAIR:
We see no lost respect on the part of the 'street' in the Company. What we do see are a lot of the major institutions waiting on the sidelines until the pricing issues are behind us in our core business and Avidia begins to ship. These factors, coupled with a natural wait-and-see attitude about Mike and what he will do, means more of the same for the next few quarters. Remember, he has only been physically on board for 60 days. He looks good to us so far but he will have to prove himself just like the rest of us.

We continue to wish you the very best.

Chuck

>>my crap,now
What I see from this is interesting relative to some of the competition.
In recent days, a competitor has quit the field against AVIDIA, I think Chuck's enthusiasm reflects that fact. His DSLAM product defeats kingpin ALA and now one less other co. to worry about.

It is obvious the price competition is there and ADTN won the price comp. at BEL, but they have to deal with even worse margins going forward. Still a couple qtrs weakness are there for PAIR. Yet PAIR goes up and ADTN goes down, check this relationship out in 6 mos. for relative performance!

The best is last. Imagine when those brokerage realize the change in the company's product mix. You'll want to onboard a few months ahead. But beware of the fits and starts as we have already seen ( when the takeover supercedes the fundamental).

Good luck , folks
