Company Press Release

ChemTrak to Cease Operation

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 1999--ChemTrak Inc. (OTC BB:CMTR - news) Thursday announced that the offer to purchase its assets by Clinimetrics has been withdrawn and it does not have funds to continue operations after Jan. 29, 1999.
It plans to discontinue operations at close of business Jan. 29. The company will close its headquarters facility and lab, and lay off its workers.
While potential suitors continue to express an interest in buying the company or its assets, it appears unlikely that such an offer will be finalized in time for ChemTrak to continue to operate the business. It is the firm belief of the company that the proceeds of any sale or other disposition of its assets would be used solely to satisfy the claims of the company's creditors.
Located in Sunnyvale, ChemTrak is a medical diagnostics company.

Osprey, it looks that way to me too. With 18-million outstanding shares, it would cost a buyer $9-million to buy a trading shell at the rumored half buck a share. No way! A shell can be purchased for a tiny fraction of that.
