Anthony,

I figured it out...

There was this article in a South African newspaper

mg.co.za

It was at 4 PM South African time, which is 9:00 AM EST. I guess the action was a reaction to this article.

Anthony, I recycled into GEEK this afternoon and would very much like your opinion. Geek was up due to an upgrade by Amerifirst Brokerage, Dallas. GEEK's home town boys. With a $225mil mkt cap and 53k subscribers, it's like $4245 per subscriber. 2nd Q was -4c vs. 6c. Only coverage other than mentioned is by two underwriters who of course, have it as a buy. Short interest 390k 2/99. Insiders sold 345k shs @ $12.09 1/4/99. In addition, The Company completed a public offering on December 10, 1998, of 2,300,000 shares of Common Stock at $13.00 per share through an underwriting group led by Hoak Breedlove Wesneski & Co. and Ferris, Baker Watts, Incorporated. Of these shares, 1,700,000 were sold by Internet America and 600,000 were offered by the Selling Shareholders. Exercise of the over- allotment option raised the total number of shares sold by the Selling Shareholders to 945,000.
No debt, no dirt, just your overhyped internut stock IMMHO. My short today at 40 was just a reversal which I'm pretty good at picking. When I reshorted I decided to actually do some DD, especially when i decided to hold overnight. Any info would be appreciated. Anything else I should be looking for?? Thanks in advance for your help.

Anthony, check out the SKSF thread. It's recently become one of the hot topics in SI due to the fact management seemed to have withheld some really important info, like missing revenue estimates by $28M. Down about 8 points this last week, but could easily head to new 52 week lows.

Just now I went to get a quote on PPOD and mistyped the symbol, got PPD (Prepaid Legal)... hmmm, it's down from 31 to 26 3/4 since Tuesday on no news, a nice straight line. Why? I don't have time at the moment to look at this, just thought I'd mention it... anyone know the company?
