In other trading, implied volatility on Intermagnetics General Corp. (AMEX:IMG - news) surged as high as 140 percent for the
April 10 calls, but traders said they knew of no reason for the advance.

Volatility on shares of the maker of superconducting magnets and associated refrigeration equipment has steadily risen from
around 70 percent over the past month, traders said.

Calls registered trading volume of 239 contracts. No puts traded.

My guess is that either:

a) momentum players, the stock will slide back to oblivion
b) somebody(ies) know something you and I don't know. No one buys this volume of stock with the insubstantial news that has been published so far.

Maybe what they are about to announce is there newest tech discovery- how to use their magnets to extend human life, and they have a patent on the invention besides!!! :-)
