Re "short-term capital gains" and "taxes"

Many people, myself included, make many of our trades through tax deferred retirement accounts like IRAs and 401(k) brokerage accounts. To us it's taxed all the same in the end.

My short-term trades are generally via the tax deferred account and my longer holds are generally through my taxable account.

I sold ORCL at 45 5/16 on 1/13/99 via an IRA account and will probably get back in within the next few days. I had no tax issues to deal with.

Good trading to all

Edwarda:

"Has anyone ever heard the terms "short-term capital gains" and "taxes"?"

I don't know about you, but I have always favored LARGE tax payments on large gains as opposed to NO PAYMENTS on no gains.
