An inflection point is an important pivotal decision time in determining a company's course or direction for the future. (e.g. Intel's initial decision to ignore the sub $1000 computer market)

Lynn..."Inflection point" (informal definition) is a term that was made popular, I believe, by Andy Grove at Intel. It addresses the point where changes and investment that are made in technology or business model begin to accellerate almost exponentially in their use, in the return on investments, etc.
