Clarification for the group:

I think it was bloomberg that just came out and said that "MSFT will have Q3 revenues $400 MM lower than expected" due to the timing of deferred revenue recognition related to Office 97.

The problem with this is that it is inconsistent with what Maffei said in the call. Maffei indicated that although MSFT would be deferring the revenues until Q4, "he felt comfortable with revenues and earnings estimates for the Q3." In other words, there will be no revenue shortfall in Q3, even with the deferral.

What a great company, and what terrible reporting.
