SJS, thanks for taking umbrance with me. The weak-kneed momo's got out today. I saw it happen on the sideline bench. Sure, there's a few others who will leave the stock tomorrow, but it's their loss they didn't hedge their positions. You're right about the LYCOS sword. Can't wait for them to sell LYCOS to someone else. Validates their exit strategy. Hope Wetherell's testosterone doesn't get in the way of his good business sense... Best regards, Mark A. Peterson

dw needs to play poker and from the conference call, i'd say he's doing it. trying to get a better deal from usanet to up the ante or i won't play your kind of game. you'll notice that he was not panning the usa deal. he actually supported it, but it's what he shows not what he says. and he showed it in his resignation from the board. I predict that there will be a better deal with usa. not a failure of the deal or a buy by cmgi. this guy is a real player and one to be dealt with. he'll follow through on the bluff if he has to and i suspect diller knows it. don't you find it the least bit coincidental that this was the time to get rid of the marketing arm of cmgi?? at a profit that can be redirected to more profitable ends (ie: lcos). don't you just have to love a guy who knows when to play his trump card??
