How can we confirm the Israeli situation?

That is a HUGE story. What if it happens around the world next year???

Yes, it is amazing that the story has not been out until now.

The Israeli tax situation is consistent with the "bump in the road" view. An annoying glitch that causes some extra work for the tax clerks. I expect we'll see a number of these sorts of things next year.

They did a damn good job of keeping it quiet too, eh?.

This is an example of the sort of paranoid rant coming from the doomer camp that I find so annoying. This kind of statement isn't likely to make the average person take Y2K more seriously.
